We made Verizon feel more human, one platform-native post at a time.
As brands were just beginning to grasp the power of real-time content, we were already in the trenches. I co-led Verizon’s social team at mcgarrybowen during the post–Oreo blackout era—a pivotal time that called for speed, cultural fluency, and craft.
We built a platform-native, in-house content model to meet the moment. Working alongside a full-time photographer and nimble creative team, we concepted, styled, and produced original content daily, tapping into news cycles, seasonal moments, and unexpected ideas that made the brand feel more human and responsive.
We developed a distinct brand voice, scalable visual systems, and a fluid way of working that let us move fast without sacrificing quality. From Super Bowl war room rehearsals to everyday dog-whispering, we brought heart and humor to a telecom giant.
The results? 2.1M+ new followers, an 80× lift in engagement, and a Facebook “Best in Class” nod, proof that brand storytelling could thrive in the fast lane.
